Human figure drawing is one of the most essential skills for students preparing for NID, UCEED, NIFT, and NATA entrance examinations. In this Human Figure Sketching Practice – Study Series Part 30, students can observe and study a variety of human poses to strengthen their understanding of anatomy, proportions, posture, gesture, and line quality.
This exercise is designed to improve visual observation, sketching speed, and drawing accuracy, which are crucial for design entrance exams such as the UCEED sketching test, NID studio test preparation, NIFT drawing test, and the NATA sketching section.
Students are encouraged to display the reference images on a larger screen and carefully analyze each figure before drawing. Focus on capturing the overall gesture and proportion of the figure first, followed by structure and finer details. Consistent practice helps develop confidence in drawing people from observation as well as from memory.

At Vijay Design Studio, Nashik, students regularly practice such exercises as part of their preparation for NID, UCEED, NIFT, and NATA entrance exams, helping them build strong drawing fundamentals, observation skills, and creative confidence.
Regular practice of human figure sketching improves the ability to draw people in different poses, movements, and perspectives. While observing the reference images, pay close attention to body balance, posture, limb proportions, and the flow of lines. With continued practice, students can significantly improve their performance in live sketching and memory drawing tasks.
