Application Process

  • Register Online
    Candidates must register on the official UCEED portal: www.uceed.iitb.ac.in to begin the admission process.

  • Eligibility to Apply
    Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2025 are eligible to apply for admission to the BDes programs for the academic year 2025–2026.

  • Single Application for All IITs
    A common application form will be available through the UCEED portal. IIT Bombay handles this process centrally on behalf of all participating institutes.

  • Fill in Preferences
    Applicants must fill out personal details and select their preferred institutes in order of priority.

  • Upload Required Documents
    Upload scanned copies of all required documents including photograph, signature, UCEED scorecard, and relevant certificates.

  • Pay the Processing Fee
    Submit the form online after making the required fee payment.

  • Submit Final Form
    A signed copy of the first page of the completed application must be uploaded as part of the process.

  • Seat Allotment Criteria
    Seats are allotted based on All-India Rank (UCEED score), reservation category, and availability of seats at institutes.

  • Edit & Resubmit (Before Deadline)
    Applicants can modify their application (including preferences) any number of times until the deadline.

  • Final Submission
    After the final deadline, submitted applications are locked and cannot be edited.

  • Accuracy Is Crucial
    Make sure all details, especially marks and category information, are accurate. Any discrepancies may lead to rejection.

  • Verification by Institutes
    Each admitting institute will verify documents before confirming admission.

  • Admission Cancellation Clause
    If any document or information is found to be false or incorrect, admission can be cancelled at any stage.

  • Provisional Admission
    Admissions remain provisional until verification is complete, and required fees are paid.

  • No Institute Change Later
    Once the counselling and seat allocation process is complete, shifting to another institute is not allowed.

Understand the Exam Pattern

  • UCEED 2025 Exam Pattern

  • At Vijay Design Studio, we ensure our students are well-prepared with complete clarity on the UCEED 2025 exam structure. The UCEED exam consists of a single paper conducted over 3 hours and is designed to evaluate a candidate's creativity, visualization, problem-solving, and design aptitude.

  • Total Marks: 300
    Medium: English
    Duration: 3 Hours
    Sections: Part-A (Computer-Based) & Part-B (Drawing-Based)

Part-A: Computer-Based Test

Total Marks: 200 | Duration: 2 Hours
This part is conducted online and includes the following three sections:

1. NAT (Numerical Answer Type)

  • 14 questions | 4 marks each

  • No options provided. Answers must be typed using the virtual keyboard.

  • No negative marking

2. MSQ (Multiple Select Questions)

  • 15 questions | One or more correct answers

  • Marking Scheme:

    • +4: All correct options chosen

    • +3: All correct options (4) exist, 3 selected correctly

    • +2: Only two correct options selected, none incorrect

    • +1: One correct option selected, none incorrect

    • 0: Unanswered

    • -1: Any incorrect option selected

3. MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)

  • 28 questions | 3 marks each

  • Only one correct option per question

  • Marking Scheme:

    • +3: Correct answer

    • -0.71: Incorrect answer

Part-B: Drawing-Based Test

Total Marks: 100 | Duration: 1 Hour
This section evaluates the candidate’s drawing and design aptitude.

  • 2 descriptive questions based on visual communication and sketching skills

  • Questions appear on screen, answers must be hand-drawn in the answer booklet

  • Part-B is mandatory and cannot be skipped

  • Booklets are submitted at the end of the exam

  • Note: No scribe assistance is allowed in this section, as it tests hands-on creativity

UCEED 2025 - 26 Syllabus for the Entrance Exam

  • UCEED 2025 Syllabus

  • The UCEED exam tests a candidate’s creativity, observation, logical reasoning, and design aptitude. It has two parts:

  • Part-A (Computer-Based)

  • This section includes NAT, MSQ, and MCQ questions covering:

  • Visualization & Spatial Ability – 2D and 3D form understanding

  • Scientific & Practical Knowledge – Real-world concepts

  • Observation & Design Sensitivity – Visual analysis & aesthetics

  • Environment & Society – Design in social and cultural context

  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning – Data interpretation and logic

  • Language & Creativity – English comprehension and abstract thinking

  • Part-B (Drawing Section)

  • This section tests:

  • Drawing Skills – Perspective, proportion, and shading

  • Design Aptitude – Creative responses to real-world scenarios

  • Both parts are mandatory. The syllabus is indicative and may evolve with the exam format.

UCEED Result 2025 - 26

  • UCEED 2025 results will be declared on March 07, 2025, on the official website uceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates must log in with their credentials to view their results.

  • Score Cards can be downloaded from March 10 to June 11, 2025. No hard copies will be sent via post or email.

  • Qualified students will receive an All India Rank (AIR), but securing a rank does not guarantee admission to the B.Des program.

  • Note: Part-A responses will be available only until results are announced. Post-result, no access or requests will be accepted.
